Our Mission

The Liberi School: Building a Global Virtual Schoolhouse

Our mission is to liberate children and teachers from around the world to think freely, to embrace creativity, to be themselves, and to imagine their lives in the context of humanity. An innovative education can liberate our children by teaching young minds how to think, not what to think.

To meet the changing needs of education, a global virtual schoolhouse enables students to build meaningful relationships and learn with their teachers and peers from anywhere in the world. Geographical boundaries are lifted as children’s connections expand across cultures and continents. Our curriculum integrates virtual interviews, tours, and experiences with our in-the-field correspondents from locations around the globe. We believe that bringing a world perspective to students learning at home and connecting children with culturally diverse communities and people is more important now than ever. Our children are global citizens and engaging them in a worldwide conversation allows them to envision and work towards a future that includes all of humanity.

Our approach to education is defined by these core values:

  • An integrated curriculum focuses on academic rigor, creativity, intellectual freedom, and the arts

  • Children access the curriculum at an individual level and learning is personalized

  • Opportunities for teaching and learning among children across age groups are myriad

  • Mindfulness, metacognition, self-direction, and independence in learning is developed

  • Free thinking, curiosity, questioning, and differences are valued and encouraged

  • Teaching is creative, inspired, and free from dogma

  • Knowledge and big ideas are ever present in the classroom

  • Assessment is based on multiple measures of mastery

  • Whole school community cultivates a culture of respect, engagement, and collaboration

They cannot stop me. I will get my education—if it is in the home, school, or anyplace.
