The warm and accepting environment at Liberi allowed our boys the space and confidence to embrace their innate gifts and tackle new areas of learning.  The symbiosis between the school’s vision and our home values drew us to the Liberi community, one of learners, parents and mentors rallying around each other in our success and in our times of need.”

DECEMBER 2020

There is such an open, honest vibe to the Liberi community. The instructors who my children have taken classes with have been so dynamic, and they meet each student where they are. Every voice is heard, every thought is valued, and every student is respected. That this is all true of a community that is currently entirely virtual is nothing short of amazing. We found Liberi in the fall of 2020, and the classes have been centering and grounding for our two children. As parents, we’ve loved feeling that our kids are not just sitting wasting hours in front of a computer but rather that they are acting, writing, drawing, discussing history, using the computer in an engaging way to conduct research. Liberi has found a way to use the computer to bring kids closer together despite their physical distance, and keeping them creative and freethinking. These classes have truly been a saving grace for us in these chaotic times.

Liberi has been a small miracle for our family. We home schooled our 6- and 5-year-old boys in the spring when their school closed, and tried the local public school's remote option this fall. Neither worked for us - but Liberi has provided the best of both remote learning and home schooling. The boys have enough structure to shape their day, but the time commitment isn’t burdensome. The class is small, so the boys are constantly engaging in conversation rather than waiting for their turn to be acknowledged. Elizabeth, the lower school teacher, is fantastic. Her lessons keep the boys interested and actively involved. The out of school practice work doesn't feel like homework - rather it’s been a great guide for me to spend positive, constructive time with the boys when they’re not in class. Being able to overhear some of the classes has helped me better understand my boys and their development and how I can best support them. Elizabeth incorporates hands-on project work into each unit, and the boys love working on the projects.

It’s been truly wonderful for Dante and Deo to be home with us and to feel actively involved in their learning, but with none of the pressure of teaching them ourselves. We’re confident that they’re receiving a whole education, one that goes far beyond what we're trained to do - and we feel immensely fortunate that we have been able to participate in Liberi’s model of remote learning.”
